As you will eventually find out, I am a big fan of Tequila. The good stuff. 100% agave. After all, life is too short to waste your time on cheap booze. I ran into this Coconut Tequila the other day and figured I should try it in my quest to find the perfect Margarita. So I created the 1800 Coconut Tequila Margarita.
I like simple in my Margaritas, so I normally go the classic route of Tequila, Cointreau or some other alcohol, fresh lime juice, and ice. Since I was all out of Cointreau, I used Bermuda Gold Liqueur this time, which has to be good because they use the fancy spelling on the word Liqueur. Fancy is sometimes better.
The Bermuda Gold Liqueur is made in Bermuda, probably why they named it that? Pretty amazing, I can cook and I am also a genius. Bermuda Gold is made from loquat fruits. Since I had no idea what a “loquat” was, I searched it and found out it is a fruit from China that also grows in Bermuda. The liqueur has a brandy-like taste and smell, and I have made many Margaritas using brandy instead of Cointreau and you should try one because they are good.
